Finance Officer

Position: Finance Officer
Contract: Part-time, One-year (Renewable based on funding)
Hours: 25 - 30 hours/week
Remuneration: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Impacthub for Youth and Children Foundation (IYCF) is a non-governmental organization committed to equipping the leaders of today and tomorrow to fight ignorance and poverty. Through transformative initiatives such as Comfort Care (menstrual hygiene support for schoolgirls) and Pages of Change (educational material distribution), Edurise Initiative, support to orphanages the Foundation has been able to promote access to quality education, gender equality, give hope to orphaned kids and youth empowerment.

Position Summary

The Finance Officer will work on a part-time arrangement of 25 - 30 hours a week to provide technical support in the financial activities of the organization across all projects and programs, which includes the development and implementation of comprehensive Financial accountability systems, effective financial management, compliance, accountability, and transparency in the use of organizational and donor funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial accountability and management systems
  • Maintain accurate financial and accounting records in line with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses for management and funding partners.
  • Support the preparation of donor and grant financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and audit requirements.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage petty cash transactions.
  • Strengthen financial systems and internal controls to enhance accountability.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams on budget planning and financial management.
  • Liaise with auditors, vendors, and relevant stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN/ACCA is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the NGO or development sector.
  • Experience managing donor funded projects and preparing financial reports.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
